Real Rome Tours was established in 2007, as a team of experienced tour guides from different fields – art, history, archaeology and theology. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, we passionately love Rome and want to share that passion with you. 

Unlike many so-called companies in Rome, we are a 100% legal entity.

We are certified with the Chamber of Commerce, and pay VAT (here it is known as IVA) on all monies received from you*.

*Don’t worry – we don’t add this on afterward, it is included in your tour fees!

Legal companies will always include their IVA number, office address and office phone number (beginning with 06 – the dialling code for Rome). Illegal companies will only use mobile/cellphone numbers as they cannot register with Telecom Italia. These numbers always begin with a 3 (after the +39 international dialling code

 for Italy). 

Since we set up, we have made it our mission to look out for visitors to Rome.

Too many local companies like to take advantage of what they see as "stupid tourists", which just drives us mad, in fact it is what drove us to setting up 

this company.

They tell lies, overcharge and pack their groups with as many people as possible,

with nothing in mind but bottom-line profit. 

We, however, put the customer first.

We pride ourselves on honesty, reliability and value for money. Our ambition is to bring Rome to everybody.
We prefer to keep our groups small so that you can hear your guide, ask questions and enjoy a more personal experience.

From your first contact with us, we strive to deliver the personal touch.
We promise to reply to your first e-mail within 24 hours, and the tour co-ordinator who replies to you is your co-ordinator. 

The tour co-ordinator's first objective is to prioritise your interests, not ours.

So, from your first e-mail, s/he will give you impartial advice, aimed at maximising your trip to Rome with minimum expense, and will stay with your from first contact until your vacation is over!

Our tours are a mixture of light narrative, interesting information and amusing anecdotes. Fortunately, the history of Rome was written by some very colourful and flamboyant historians, and it was the centre of the Christian world which patronized the most famous artists who ever lived, so our tours are not boring history lessons but revealing insights into the way Romans lived, and how the city developed through the ages.
