Your private Ancient Rome walk
Step back into the world of gladiators, senators and emperors with your own expert guide. With named, timed-entry tickets you go straight toward the Colosseum entrance for your scheduled time, then continue through the Roman Forum and up to the Palatine Hill — the birthplace of Rome.
Colosseum
Inside the Colosseum, your guide brings the arena to life: how the building was engineered, what the games looked and sounded like, and what they meant to ancient Romans. From the second tier you’ll take in the full sweep of the amphitheatre with time for photos and questions.
Roman Forum
Walk the Via Sacra past triumphal arches and temples to the heart of the Republic. Hear about the Senate, Julius Caesar, everyday markets and rituals, and how this valley evolved from swamp to the most important public square in the ancient world.
Palatine Hill
Climb to the emperors’ neighbourhood for panoramic views over the Forum and Circus Maximus. Among palace ruins and gardens, your guide ties together Rome’s origin myths with the reality of imperial power.
Upgrades (on request)
Arena Access lets you step onto the reconstructed arena floor for a gladiator’s-eye view.
Underground Access explores the hypogeum, where lifts, corridors and animal pens powered the spectacles.
These upgrades are limited and never extend tour time; if an upgrade isn’t granted for your date, your tour runs on the standard route and any supplement is removed automatically.
Pace, focus and families
Because this is a private tour, we set the pace that suits you — faster for headline highlights, or slower with extra time for photos, stories and breaks. With kids we weave in short challenges and vivid tales; for mobility needs we choose gentler gradients and the most convenient entrances.
Practical notes
Entry is by named, timed reservations — there is no ticket queue. Everyone shares a standard security checkpoint, so you may wait briefly with others booked for the same time.
Every visitor must bring original photo ID; ticket names must match the ID shown on the day.
Small bags only; large backpacks are not permitted. Surfaces can be uneven — wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, especially in warmer months.
Headsets may be required by site policy for clarity in busy areas; if so, they’re included.

Arena upgrade (on request)

Underground upgrade (on request): + €50 per person (all ages, incl. infants) — very limited.
Underground access is not suitable for strollers and is generally not recommended for infants.

Access upgrades (on request)
Arena Floor (often available)
Full Experience (recommended): Arena floor + standard interior (incl. 2nd level) via the main entrance.
Express (arena-only): Direct Arena gate with expedited security, 20 minutes on the floor, no access to upper levels/interior; you then continue to the Forum & Palatine.
How we confirm: We request Full first. If not issued, we’ll offer Express (when available) or revert to Standard. Any supplement is removed if an upgrade isn’t granted.
Underground (extremely limited)
Very small monthly allocation (usually 2–3 tours/month), so most requests aren’t confirmed. If your priority is increased access, Arena is far more likely.
If granted, the tour runs about 30 minutes longer.
Upgrades are request-only. If an upgrade isn’t granted for your date, your tour runs as the Standard route and any upgrade supplement is removed automatically.

- IDs: Every visitor must bring an original passport, driver’s licence, or national ID. First & last names only must match the ticket; middle names are not required. No photocopies.
- Meeting point: Outside Colosseo Metro by the Casa dell’acqua di Acea (green kiosk). Google Maps pin is in your confirmation.
- Security: Airport-style checks; you may wait briefly with others booked for the same time.
- Bags: Small bags only; leave large backpacks at your accommodation.
- Shoes & water: Wear comfortable shoes and bring a refillable bottle.
- Accessibility: Ancient sites have uneven surfaces and stairs—tell us about mobility needs and we’ll adapt the route.
- About “skip-the-line”: Entry is by named, timed reservations. You enter at your time; only security is shared.
- Headsets policy: Provided based on site rules, group size and guide preference; we’ll honour your preference where possible.
How customisation works
After you request your date, we personally follow up by WhatsApp or email to fine-tune the tour to your pace and interests. If you prefer to spend more time in the Forum (or skip Palatine Hill), just say so—we’ll adjust the route and timing. We’ll also confirm any access upgrades (Arena or Underground) if they’re granted for your date.
