Your private Vatican visit, at your pace
Meet your guide and head straight toward the Museums with named, timed-entry tickets. No ticket queues — you enter at your reserved time, and we share only the standard security checks.
Museums: from courtyards to galleries
We begin with an orientation through the courtyards, then into highlights that bring the collections to life — classical sculpture in the Pio-Clementino (think Laocoön and Apollo Belvedere), followed by the Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of Tapestries, and the wonderfully cinematic Gallery of Maps.
Raphael Rooms (when open)
In the Raphael Rooms your guide connects the paintings to the politics and personalities of Julius II and Leo X, so “School of Athens” becomes a story, not just a masterpiece.
Sistine Chapel
Before we enter the Chapel (where silence is required), your guide explains Michelangelo’s ceiling and the Last Judgment so you can take it all in quietly — Creation scenes, prophets and sibyls, and the drama above the altar.
St Peter’s Basilica (when open)
From the Chapel we continue to St Peter’s. Inside, see Michelangelo’s Pietà, Bernini’s Baldacchino and the papal altar, and learn how the largest church in Christendom was engineered and embellished. Access can be affected by liturgies and Vatican events; if something is closed, your guide adapts the route.
Pace, focus and tailoring
This is a private tour, so we shape the visit around you: go deeper on art history, faith and symbolism, or keep a brisker pace focused on headline highlights. Families are welcome — we build in breaks and stories for younger visitors. If mobility is a factor, we use elevators and alternative routes whenever possible.
Early entry, extra time and the Dome
When allocations are granted, an early-entry option can reduce crowds at the start of the day. You can also add extra time for a deeper Museums focus or for St Peter’s Dome (steps; requires additional time and tickets). If you choose the Dome, we’ll adjust the schedule accordingly.
Practical notes
Dress with shoulders and knees covered for the Basilica. Bring only small bags; large backpacks are not permitted inside. Photos are fine in most Museum areas; no photos in the Sistine Chapel. Every visitor must bring original photo ID — ticket names must match the ID shown on the day.

Important info
- IDs: Every visitor must bring an original passport, driver’s licence or national ID. First & last names only must match the ticket; middle names are not required. No photocopies or digital versions.
- Meeting point:
Outside Vatican Museums exit arch on Viale Vaticano. Google Maps pin is in your confirmation. - Security: Airport-style security checks. You may wait briefly with others who have the same entry time.
- Dress code: Shoulders and knees must be covered for both men and women (Basilica requirement).
- Bags: Small bags only; large backpacks must be left at your accommodation or checked in the cloakroom.

- Religious events: Occasionally parts of the Basilica or Museums may close at short notice for papal liturgies or events. Your guide will adapt your route to give you the best experience possible on the day.
How customisation works
After you request your date, we follow up personally by WhatsApp or email to fine-tune the tour to your pace and interests.
Prefer more time in the Raphael Rooms, or a stronger focus on the Sistine Chapel or St Peter’s? Just say so – we’ll adjust the route and timing. We’ll also confirm any early-entry or extra-time upgrades if they’re granted for your date.
FAQs
How early can we start our Vatican tour?
We can usually begin as early as 8:00 AM, depending on ticket availability for your date. Early entry is not always available, but we secure the best timed entry possible and confirm it with you.
What happens if early-entry tickets aren’t available for my date?
We always secure the best available timed entry for your date and send you the options with no obligation to accept.
We only confirm tickets after you’ve approved the time.
The Vatican releases new ticket allocations on a rolling basis; we monitor availability and aim for the earliest slot still open.
Is St Peter’s Basilica always included?
Yes — St Peter’s Basilica is part of the standard itinerary and normally accessed through the reserved passageway from the Sistine Chapel.
However, the Vatican may close the Basilica without notice for liturgies, events, or security requirements.
If that happens, we replace the Basilica visit with additional highlights inside the Vatican Museums.
For visitors with limited mobility, wheelchairs, or strollers, the passageway to the Basilica is not accessible.
In these cases, we coordinate with you in advance to find the best alternative plan.
Are tickets included and do we really “skip the line”?
All Vatican tickets are included.
There is no ticket queue — Vatican entry is by named, timed reservations, and your guide leads you straight to the entry for your scheduled time.
You may wait briefly at the shared security checkpoint, as all visitors must pass through metal detection.
