Make the most out of your Colosseum visit with a special entry to the underground area, where gladiators, wild animals and stage settings were all kept in storage before being hoisted on to the arena via a special system of trapdoors which can still be traced today by your expert guide.

Important Note: Due to the limited number of tickets available to this confined area and the immense popularity of this visit, it is not possible to guarantee this addition until the tickets have actually been released by the Colosseum, which is one month prior to the date of your tour. We are quite good at securing these tickets, enjoying a 95% success rate, but because we cannot guarantee the tickets until we have them in hand, we will not charge you for this option until we have actually have secured them for you.

The additional fee for this extra option is €45 per adult and €30 per child, and it adds 30 minutes to the tour duration. By selecting this option, you authorise us to apply this additional charge to the credit card you use when booking the tour, once we have secured the Colosseum Underground tickets.

If you have added the Arena tickets to your booking, the cost of the Colosseum Underground option is reduced by the amount you have already been charged for this option, as the Arena entrance is also included with the Colosseum Underground tickets.

See the wall on which famous orators such as Cicero made their speeches.

Learn the history of Ancient Rome as you walk among 2000 year old ruins
See the wall on which famous orators such as Cicero made their speeches.

Take a look at the remains of the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina and the temples of Julius Caesar and Romulus.

Listen to your guide’s explanations about the history of the Forum and what the temples, arches, and monuments were used for.

Hear about all the activities that took place in this sacred part of Ancient Rome during the days of the Roman Republic.

Visit the Palatine Hill, which was home to the wealthiest of Rome’s noble citizens during the time of the Republic, and later, exclusively the emperor.

Today, you can still see remains of some of the imperial palace’s former splendour.

The Palatine Hill looked over the Roman Forum, and it was no accident that the elite ruling class of Rome resided there, eventually becoming home to the Emperors, who built such large residences that the word “palace” takes its name from the hill. Another reason for the importance of this hill was its legendary connection with the birth of Rome.

A visit to the Palatine Hill is a must if you want to understand how the Romans felt about their city.
