What you’ll see in Ostia Antica

Ostia Antica was the bustling harbour city of ancient Rome — and today it’s one of the most impressive archaeological sites near the city.

Its streets, taverns and apartment buildings survive almost intact, offering a vivid slice of daily Roman life.

With your guide you’ll follow the Decumanus (the main street), explore side lanes and courtyards, and step inside remarkably preserved shops and homes.

You’ll also see highlights such as the Theatre, the Forum area, and mosaics like those in the Baths of Neptune.

Because Ostia is wide-open and crowd-light compared to Rome’s main sites, it’s one of the best places to really picture how the city worked day-to-day.
