FAQs

Why does the route change between morning and afternoon tours?

The route is planned around our fixed Colosseum Arena entry time. Morning tours begin in the Roman Forum and Palatine area before the timed Colosseum Arena entry. Afternoon tours begin with the Colosseum Arena entry, followed by the Roman Forum and Palatine area.

This lets us keep the tour flowing smoothly while making the best use of the scheduled entry time.

How big is the group and what language is the tour in?

Maximum 6 guests, one language (English) with a licensed guide.

Can we stay longer in the Colosseum after the tour?

This depends on the route and the official visitor flow on the day. The ticket allows one entry to the Colosseum and one entry to the Roman Forum/Palatine area, so it is not possible to leave and re-enter either area later.

Your guide will make the best use of the timed Colosseum Arena entry during the tour.

Can we skip Palatine Hill or adjust the focus?

Because this is a small shared group, the route is fixed. The tour includes the Colosseum Arena Floor, Roman Forum highlights and Palatine area.

If you would like a customised pace, route or historical focus, we recommend booking a private tour instead.

Are tickets included and do we “skip the line”?

Yes — named, timed-entry tickets are included.

Rome sites use timed reservations, so there is no traditional ticket queue to skip. Everyone still passes through standard security checks, as at an airport, and there may be a short wait with other visitors booked for the same time.

Each visitor must bring original photo ID. The first and last name on the ID must match the ticket.

Is this a highlights tour or an in-depth tour?

This is a well-paced highlights experience covering the key must-sees across the Colosseum Arena Floor, Roman Forum and Palatine area in about 3 hours.

If you would like a deeper focus on one area, such as the Roman Forum/Palatine only or the Colosseum only, a private tour is the better option.

Do you use headsets/radios on this tour?

Because the group is very small, headsets are not always necessary. They may be used whenever helpful, especially on busier days. If used, they are included in the tour price.

What time should we arrive?

Please arrive 30 minutes before the departure time shown in your booking, and no later than 15 minutes before departure.

If the full group is present early, the guide may leave the meeting point before the scheduled departure time and move toward the first entrance. This helps keep the tour on schedule for the timed Colosseum Arena entry.
